Battle Of Stalingrad
The Battle of Stalingrad marked the turning point in the War II against Nazi Germany and its allies. It was a major victory for the Soviet Union and marked the end of the German. The Battle of Normandy caused in the Allied discharge of Western Europe from Nazi Germany’s control. Codenamed Operation Overlord, also known as D-Day, when some 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along the coast of France’s Normandy region. The invasion was one of the largest military assaults in history. Prior to D-Day, the Allies designed to mislead the Germans to their target. By late August 1944, all of northern France had been liberated, and by the following spring the Allies had defeated the Germans. “The Normandy landings have been called the beginning of the end of war in Europe.”

6 months after D-day the allies are sent for a final push into
Germany. The battle was a last ditch attempt by Hitler, he convinced himself that the alliance between Britain, France and America in the western part of Europe was not strong, and to split the Allies in two and to destroy their ability to supply themselves.
It was the largest and costliest battle and the last major Nazi offensive against the Allies in World War II. The Germans lost
experienced soldiers and equipment that they could not replace.
Battle Of Iwo Jima
Both Japan and the US valued the island Iwo Jima, which started The Battle of Iwo Jima. The United States wanted the island for air base to launch fighter plans and to serve as an emergency landing strip for damaged bombers returned from their bombing run on Japan. Hardly any of the Japanese underground fortresses were touched with their miles of underground tunnels, and caves. The Japanese strategy called for “no Japanese survivors.” each soldier to kill 10 Americans before they themselves are killed. It was at first expected to be a short battle to secure control of the island, the battle turned out to be one of the deadliest of the war on both sides with the United States, the largest armada invasion up to that time in the Pacific War.
